Life

Romance languages have a similar word for "Life"; in Spanish is "Vida", in French "Vie", in Italian "Vita" all coming from Latin "Vita".


Although the English noun"Life" has Germanic roots, the Latin "Vita" originated words like "Vital", "Vitality", and "Vitamin".


Expressions like "In un'altra vita" (In an other life) and "Una vita da cani" (A dog's life) are common in Italian as well as in English.
