It’s an Italian word. It’s also an English word. Keep on reading and spread the love. :)
“Aggiornamento” comes from the Italian verb “Aggiornare” meaning “To bring up to date”. It comes from the noun “Giorno” ( from the Latin ” Diurnum”=“Day” origin of the word “Diurnal”).
“Buon giorno” that’s what we say every day ( the pronunciation of the “G” is like the”J” in English). Nouns like “Journey” and “Journal” have the same origin.
Common expressions with the word “Giorno” in Italian are: “Al giorno d’oggi” (Nowadays), “Tutti i santi giorni” (Day in and day out) and “Sul far del giorno” (At day break).
That’s it for now, let’s go on with our day and remember what the poet said "Some days you are the pigeon, some days you are the statue".
Buon aggiornamento!
Pier.
