Anxiety

"I'm waiting for the Age of Anxiety to drop dead", this is what the poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti wrote.

"Anxiety" (in Italian "Ansia" ) comes from Latin "Anxius" from the Latin verb "Ango" (to squeeze, to suffocate) . A similar root applies for words like "Angst","Anguish", "Anger" etc.

In post-modern times an interesting neologism is surfacing ; "Ringxiety" for people dependant on cellphones and social media that mistakenly think their cell is beeping..

That's it for today: don' t forget to read poems and..hold on.. my cell is ringing..
