We are good, the chicken is good, the chef is good. Everything is good.
In Italian, there are different ways of translating the generic English “Good”.
Let’s analyze few:
“Well” is translated by ” Bene”: “How are you?” (Come stai?) ‘”Well” (Bene).
Your chicken is “Buono” (as in nice, pleasant , of good quality, etc.) and the chef is “Bravo” (it refers to people’s performances).
We also have “Bello” (it means “beautiful”), but sometimes it’s used instead of “Great”, for instance: ” Un bel libro” (a great book) or “Un bel film” (a great movie).
So, if you are looking for somebody that is really good , you could use "Bravissimo" ( and subscribe to his Blog…:).
Thank you!
Pier.
