Candidate.

Everybody knows what a candelabra is, but what it has to do with politicians is an interesting story.

It comes from Latin "Candelabrum" from "Candela" (Candle) and the suffix "Brum" (To Hold).

The etymology of the word "Candela" is the Latin "Candidus" (akin to "Candor") similar to Sanskrit "Candrah" (Bright ); the word "Candidate" ("Candidato" in Italian) derives from it, because of the white toga the Roman politicians used to wear.

That's for today, I just realized I need a new kindle, but first lets not forget what Mark Twain said "Politicians and diapers must be changed often (apparently for the same reason)"..

With candor

Pier.
