Conversazione

“Conversazione” is an Italian word used in English ( I know what you are thinking, another one…).

“Conversazione” comes from Latin “conversatio” ( to live, to keep company, to turn around etc.) and while in Italian translates the English “Conversation”, in English the meaning is more specific; a “Conversazione” is a meeting about art, literature , philosophy, science etc. ( you know, that kind of chat you are usually having at DMW while in the queue).

In Italian , in order to express the same concept with one word , we may use “Convivio” (from the work written by Dante Alighieri, although lately, this term means a get-together about food and wine tasting..)

Time to go now, I’m going to have a conversazione about a convivio..

Buona festa!

An other post of mine..
