Ideas

"It's a great idea","What a bad idea!" etc. I’m talking about a concept, a thought , a notion , something that exists only in our mind as a mental image : an idea.

“Idea”  (I said “Idea” not “Ikea”) comes from the same Greek word (pronounced differently); it means “Shape”, “Form” from the verb “Idein” (To See), because an idea is something that we can see, an image in our mind.

The word “Idea” (same in Italian) originated terms like “Ideal”, “Idealist” (Diderot, 1749) and “Ideology” (Destutt de Tracy, 1796).

Arthur Schopenhauer wrote something memorable like"Ideas are our destiny"..

That’s it for today, I'm going to put together a Bekant desk but I have no idea how..

Have an ideal Monday!

Pier.
