Scherzo

It's an Italian word meaning joke, prank, or a trick; it is also an English word.

"Scherzo"(the "Ch" has a"K"sound) according to the Encyclopaedia Britannica, is "The third movement of a symphony, sonata, or string quartet; it has a rapid time with elements of surprise".

Experts think it was Beethoven who created the original scherzo with his First symphony, but Chopin and Mendelssohn are also known for the use of excellent scherzi for their music.

That's it for today, time to go,I have a minuet to compose..(it's a scherzo).

Pier.
