In Italian “Stoicismo”; it's a philosophical and spiritual current very in vogue lately; although everybody is familiar with figures like Seneca or Marcus Aurelius (the most powerful man at that time conducting a very frugal and “Stoic” life) not everybody knows the etymology of the word “Stoicism”.
“Stoic” (in Italian “Stoico”) comes from the Ancient Greek “Stoa” meaning “Porch” (Italian “Portico”).
History says that the founder Zeno, was used to teaching his followers (yes..he had real ones) under a beautifully painted porch, where its students could be safe and protected during bad weather.
Now that you know, go finding your virtual porch where “Virtue is sufficient for happiness”.
Pier the Stoic.
