Every story has an antagonist; usually it's the villain.
In Latin the word "Villa" meant "Farm" so originally the term "Villain" meant "Villager" (it is also the origin of the word "Village").
In Medieval Latin ( from 7th to 15th century) the word "Villanus" used to indicate 'A person with no education and no manners"(Villano in Italian). Over the course of time, the appellative's meaning worsened and became a synonymous for "Criminal".
So go on a be a hero today (or a villain) and like Alfred Hitchcock said "The more successful the villain, the more successful the picture".
See you at the villa..
Pier.
